São Paulo, May 3, 2025 – In its debut at gamescom latam, Roblox made a strong impression with an interactive booth and a dedicated agenda focused on strengthening its creator community in Latin America. With the ambitious goal of channeling 10% of the global gaming industry’s revenue through its ecosystem, the company reaffirmed its commitment to fostering the sustainable development of the creative economy in the region.
One of the highlights of the program was the panel “From Passion to Profession: The Journey of Roblox Developers from Latin America,” which showcased inspiring stories of young talents who turned their presence on the platform into thriving careers and businesses. The session was led by Justin Sousa, Global Head of the Roblox Developer Community, and featured the following participants:
- Marcus Alves (Mophyr) – A 29-year-old Brazilian and former medical doctor trained at UFMG who transitioned to game development and now leads an RPG-focused studio within Roblox.
- Maria Nicole (Nikii13) – A 21-year-old Argentine 3D modeler who began working at age 18 and now contributes to standout UGC projects and popular maps across the platform.
- Filipe Ribeiro (Rogue Unit) – Co-founder of the studio behind Palmeiras Bloxeverse, one of the first official activations by a Latin American sports team on Roblox, in addition to partnerships with brands such as SporTV.
In 2024, Roblox distributed US$923 million to its global community of developers and creators, with Latin America playing an increasingly important role in that growth. According to the company, investments in training, tools, and regional support will be intensified in the coming years, with the goal of transforming creative ideas into scalable businesses.
