BIG Festival (Best International Games Festival) has been taking place since 2012 and is the world’s largest independent games competition. Every year, we select the 90 best and most innovative games from around the world, making them available first-hand for the public to play. Furthermore, we are the main platform for the release of new games from Latin America to the world. Since 2024, the BIG Festival takes place inside gamescom latam.

How to participate?

What games can participate?

The games don’t need to be finished, but they must be in a playable state and able to be evaluated by the Selection Committee.
Unreleased games or those released within the last 2 years by the first day of the event (released from April 28, 2024) will be accepted.
There is a special category for unreleased games (check below).

After the selection of finalists:

- A kiosk will be provided in the B2C area of gamescom latam for the public to test the game.
- The finalist games will be featured on a special Steam page (for games available on Steam).
- The finalist games will be shared with gamescom latam’s partner creators for promotion.
- The awards ceremony will be streamed online on gamescom latam’s own channels and by media partners.
- Opportunities will be offered for the finalist games on our stages and in interviews with our media partners.
- The finalist games developers will receive tickets to attend the VIP day.
