gamescom latam 2026 BIG Starter, BIG Highlight and launches official online store

  • BIG Festival announces the selected games for initiatives aimed at independent developers.

São Paulo, 2 April, 2026 — gamescom latam 2026 has announced the games selected for BIG Starter, a BIG Festival initiative dedicated to Brazilian independent game development within the event, and for BIG Highlight, an online showcase featuring indie titles from around the world.

The selected titles are part of the 966 entries submitted to the gamescom latam BIG Festival and, although they are not competing in the official competitive showcases, have been chosen to take part in other areas of the event designed to highlight and promote independent games.

BIG Starter

Focused on Brazilian production, BIG Starter brings together 12 national titles selected by the festival’s curatorial team. The games will be available for public play in a dedicated area, and participating studios will have the opportunity to present their projects to press, publishers, and industry partners.

The selection features a diverse range of projects from Brazil’s indie scene, including both student teams and established studios.

BIG Highlight

BIG Highlight is a non-competitive international showcase, fully online, featuring 16 independent games from 13 countries. The titles will be available to play as part of a dedicated Steam festival.

The selection includes four Latin American games, alongside titles from several regions around the world.

In its 2026 edition, the BIG Festival received 966 game submissions from 75 countries. A total of 81 titles were selected for the gamescom latam competitive showcase, including 28 finalists from Latin America and 15 Brazilian games across various categories.

Held annually, the BIG Festival brings together independent developers and studios from around the world, fostering opportunities for game showcases, business meetings, and audience engagement.

gamescom latam launches official online store

gamescom latam 2026 is introducing its official online store, an integrated e-commerce platform developed in partnership with Hype (Level Up) and directly connected to the event website. Designed with attendees in mind, the store offers convenient access to a variety of gaming products and services before, during, and after the event.

The platform is exclusive to those who purchase a ticket for the 2026 edition and, following credential validation, grants access to year-round benefits, with automatic and cumulative discounts applied directly at checkout.

Key offerings include:

  • Digital games across a variety of genres and platforms
  • In-game currency and additional content
  • Exclusive promotional coupons
  • Subscriptions and special bundles
  • Cumulative benefits and exclusive discounts
