In total, the two awards celebrated 13 categories on stage, and seven of them had winners chosen by the visiting public. In the gamescom latam BIG Festival Awards categories, the biggest indie game awards in the world, Tavern Keeper, the new game from Greenheart Games (Game Dev Tycoon), stood out, as did WHAT THE CLASH?, with the Danish developers submitting a very funny video to celebrate their win in the Best Mobile Game category.
In addition, the awards also recognized projects that use games to convey urgent and important messages, with the BIG Impact category. The winner, I Don’t Want to Be a Good Woman, took the opportunity to raise public awareness, with the anonymous developers at We Remember reinforcing the game’s humanitarian message, which discusses the reality of women in Iran.
